I’ve known a lot of people, some of them good friends of mine, who have been called homophobic simply because they don’t support same-sex marriage: they don’t spout unnecessarily hateful comments about gays or anything like that. In fact, they’re more than tolerant of gay people and gay couples, they just don’t see eye-to-eye about homosexuality as a whole. They’re addressed as homophobic because they think differently and that’s all. Forgive me if I’m missing something here, but just because someone doesn’t exactly agree with something, that doesn’t mean they’re an asshole.
